WallerA A past president of the PMI Midwest Chapter (now the PMI Chicagoland Chapter), Mr. Waller was on the PMI Board of Directors for six years, initiating formal strategic and financial planning processes and serving as its president in 1996, its chair in 1997 and its ex-officio chair in 1998. A PMI member since 1978, he earned the 78th Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification. He helped develop the role definition for PMP certification, and assisted in the development of PMI Chapter-supported PMP credential exam training and guidance. In addition to originating and expanding PMI’s online presence and being an honorary PMI India Fellow, he was Chair of the PMI PMP board, a member of the original PMI OPM3 development team, and member of the original development team for the PMI Risk Management credential. For many years, he served as a judge for PMI’s Project of the Year award. He proposed and then coordinated the joining of the Performance Management Association and PMI, forming the former PMI College of Performance Management, PMI's first college. Mr. Waller spent more than four years developing the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management’s (asapm’s) project manager competency programs, served as chair of their certification board, and worked on the development team of the IPMA USA National Competency Baseline.
