PMI Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Hazard Icon

PMI is experiencing a surge in contact volumes. We ask for your patience as you will be experiencing longer than normal wait times. Our service always continues to remain our top priority, and we continue to look forward to supporting you now and into the future.

Date Updated: 26 January 2021

PMI continues its commitment to the safety and well-being of our global community, which is why we have a designated Crisis Task Force that is monitoring the situation arising from coronavirus (COVID-19) daily.

In 2021, in-person events in North America will not be held during the first half of the year. Decisions to host in-person regional events and local volunteer events outside of North America will be determined based on what is permissible per local guidelines.

PMI will continue offering virtual events as an ongoing opportunity to bring our global community together. Visit the Event Calendar for information on upcoming opportunities.

If you need assistance, please contact Customer Care.

PMI Certification Candidates

For all certification exam candidates who are able to proceed with taking your scheduled exam, please consult test center information based on location at PearsonVUE’s Coronavirus Update Page as it is updated regularly.

For candidates who already scheduled the exam but are unable to take it due to health restrictions or delays with training, PMI will offer you to reschedule your exam. All paid fees will be eligible for a refund and you will be able to reschedule without accruing penalty fees until further notice. Candidates can take their PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, and PMI-PBA exams online from the convenience of their home or office via online proctored testing (OPT).

Additionally, for all PMP exam candidates whose exam eligibility was set to expire before 18 April 2021, we have automatically extended their eligibility to 18 April 2021.

As with planning for every PMI meeting, event, and activity, the safety and welfare of all attendees are top of our minds. However, please follow the travel advisories and use individual discretion and an abundance of caution pertaining to worldwide travel as it relates to PMI-sponsored events.

All travelers should be aware of coronavirus preventative measures and travel advisories. Good sources of information include:
