PMI Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Date Updated: 16 September 2022

PMI continues its commitment to the safety and well-being of our global community, which is why we have a designated Crisis Task Force that is monitoring the situation arising from coronavirus (COVID-19).

PMI has returned to in-person events in North America as of April 2022.

PMI event attendees will be asked to comply with any local, federal and public health guidelines (i.e. CDC) as well as venue requirements in place at the time of the event. Attendees are encouraged to take precautions to protect themselves and acknowledge and respect the health and safety preferences of others. PMI will continue to evaluate what is best for event attendees to ensure we meet safely and that attendees are comfortable. Please keep in mind that health and safety protocols may evolve as an event approaches. Please reference the event website for specific health and safety details.

Decisions to host in-person regional events and local volunteer events outside of North America will be determined based on what is permissible per local guidelines and public health guidance.

Visit the Event Calendar for information on virtual and in-person trainings and events.

PMI Certification Candidates

Candidates can reschedule or cancel an online proctored exam or center-based exam at any time, up to 48 hours before the scheduled exam appointment. However, because of limited seating capacity (both physical and virtual), late rescheduling and cancellations will result in a fee. For more information on the fees and policies, please refer to the PMP Handbook.

Please note we are making COVID-19-related exceptions. We will continue to waive fees for candidates who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, receive a positive test result, had direct exposure, or are required to quarantine. We will also continue to waive fees for Pearson VUE-initiated reschedules or cancellations related to COVID-19.
