Danny Chung

Danny Chung is a leader in information technology and business transformation. His experience covers three continents in areas such as insurance, banking, airlines and charities.

Mr. Chung joined Chubb Life in 2018 as the Asia IT head. In 2022, he assisted with the acquisition of Cigna Life business (US$5.75 billion) in six Asia Pacific (APAC) markets. In his new capacity, global head of IT operations, he defined the global IT strategy covering more than 20 markets and functions of IT operations, project management offices (PMOs), enterprise risk, architecture, information security, infrastructure and shared services. His digital strategy brought customers, sales professionals and operations staff on one platform, taking all stakeholders to a new altitude of operations efficiency and experience.

Prior to Chubb Life, Mr. Chung worked with AIG in regional transformation and operations. There, he completed regional divestiture and transformation projects in seven APAC markets. The target operating model he built swiftly rejuvenated IT and operations services. He also led a regional diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program, embracing aspects like building a DEI-friendly workplace and “D” talent development. The agility from his leadership secured project success in the region and added new value to the business. Mr. Chung also assisted with Sun Life Financial’s acquisition of CMG (US$560 million) in Hong Kong, a signature project in his portfolio.

Mr. Chung holds the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification and a master’s degree in business administration. He has volunteered with PMI for over two decades, and is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors (FHKIoD) and Hong Kong Computer Society (FHKCS). He also earned an executive diploma in environmental, social and governance (ESG) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

His hobbies include hiking, letter writing and reading. He lives in Hong Kong with his family.
