Sean Whitaker has been a proud and passionate member of the project management profession for over 25 years. As a project management consultant, he provides strategic and operational improvement advice to clients all around the globe in a wide range of industries. His consulting advice is built upon years of experience as a complex project delivery specialist. The author of several books about project management, he has developed and delivered project management training at all levels—from beginner courses to the post-graduate level—to practitioners around the world.
In addition to his consulting role, he has acted as both an executive and non-executive director, providing strategic and governance advice to over 15 organizations in different industries—in different stages of growth and maturity—over the past 25 years.
As a member of the Project Management Institute since 2004 and an active volunteer since 2005, Mr. Whitaker has served the PMI New Zealand Chapter in several roles, including chapter president. He is honored to have been awarded the status of Fellow of the PMI New Zealand Chapter in recognition of his significant and sustained contributions to the project management profession. Mr. Whitaker has also served PMI at the global level, with roles on the Board Volunteer Advisory Committee (BVAC) and the PMI Professional Awards Insight Team.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees. He earned his Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification in 2004 and is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
Mr. Whitaker hopes to continue using his skills and experience to serve PMI, its members and the project management profession.
