Cindy W. Anderson, Vice President, Brand Management

As PMI vice president of brand management, Cindy W. Anderson champions continued development of a strong global brand. Under the brand umbrella, Ms. Anderson oversees the teams that deliver PMI’s position through research-informed thought leadership and standards, manage PMI’s web properties, and publish PMI magazines and books.

Ms. Anderson has been vice president since September 2013. Prior to that, she served as director, thought leadership & communications; director, marketing communications; and manager, marketing. Before joining PMI, she was strategic communications advisor to a division president at Rich Products, a US$3-billion family-owned food company. Prior to that she spent 20 years in the healthcare industry, handling various brand, communications and marketing functions for a medical device manufacturer, a nursing home chain, an HMO and a women’s health newsletter publisher.

Ms. Anderson is an active ambassador for global exploration and multiculturalism. She lived in Beijing, China, where she studied at Capital Normal University, and also participated in the Chinese-language program at the University at Buffalo. A founding member of Asian Connection of WNY, she established a weekend Chinese language and culture school for adoptive families.

Ms. Anderson earned a Master of Science degree from Boston University in mass communication and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Iowa.
