As Vice President, Brand Management, Cindy W. Anderson champions continued development of a strong, respected, authoritative global brand for PMI. PMI’s Brand group delivers value by analyzing the market to determine what stakeholders need and want; and creating, sourcing and delivering the materials that help project managers and organizations get better at what they do. Under the Brand umbrella, Ms. Anderson oversees Thought Leadership & Communications, Marketing & PR, Market Research, Digital Presence and Publications. These teams deliver PMI’s position based on input and expertise from thousands of volunteer contributors and advocates from around the globe; advance our research-informed thought leadership program using the annual Pulse of the Profession® studies, an annual Thought Leadership Research Series, and the profession’s only global salary survey. They also operate PMI’s web properties, including PMI.org, ProjectManagement.com and ProjectsAtWork.com, which deliver access to more resources, better tools, larger networks and broader perspectives; and publish PMI’s magazines — PM Network®, PMI Today® and Project Management Journal. Ms. Anderson has been vice president since September 2013. Prior to that, she served as Director, Thought Leadership & Communications; Director, Marketing Communications; and Manager, Marketing.Before joining PMI, she was Strategic Communications Advisor to a division president at Rich Products, a US$3-billion family-owned food company. Prior to that she spent 20 years in the healthcare industry, handling various brand, communications and marketing functions for a medical device manufacturer, a nursing home chain, an HMO, and a women’s health newsletter publisher. Ms. Anderson is an active ambassador for global exploration and multiculturalism. With her family, she has visited 60 countries and aims to join the Travelers’ Century Club someday. She lived in Beijing, China in 2007, where she studied at Capital Normal University, and has earned 36 credit hours in the Chinese language program at the University at Buffalo. A founding member of Asian Connection of WNY, she established a weekend Chinese language and culture school for adoptive families. Ms. Anderson earned a Master of Science degree from Boston University in mass communication with a certificate in gerontology.
