William G. Scarborough, J.D., serves as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to coming to PMI he had his own private practice for 18 years. Mr. Scarborough's areas of practice include association law, antitrust and commercial transactions.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel and the American Society of Association Executives. He also serves on the American National Standards Institute Committee on Intellectual Property Rights and is a past chair of the Ethics Committee of the American Society of Association Executives.
Mr. Scarborough has collaborated with various PMI members on articles that have appeared in PMI Today® and PM Network® on topics of intellectual property, ethics and Board of Director responsibilities. Mr. Scarborough was the staff liaison to the Ethics Standards Review Committee and participated in the drafting of the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. William supports the work of the Ethics Review Committee and the Ethics Member Advisory Group, which has been tasked by the PMI Board to educate the project management community on the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
When he does get a chance to get out the office, he is active in a variety of local charitable and church committees. He also enjoys outdoors sports, running, hiking and reading.
