Ricardo is a seasoned PMP® credential holder with more than 20 years of experience and is Managing Director for the Latin American Region where he will be crucial in our development of an enhanced, local experience for our stakeholders in Latin America, creating value for individuals and their organizations.

A Colombian and Mexican citizen, resident of the U.S, Ricardo has lived and worked in several countries during the last 20 years. Well known to PMI and the project management community, Ricardo served on the PMI Global Board of Directors for 2010-2015 and its Global Chairman in 2014. In the last three years, Ricardo has served as a member (2016) and chairman of the PMI Board of Directors Nomination Committee (2017 and 2018).

Ricardo has managed and consulted on projects and programs in diverse industries (Government, Mining, Construction, Telecomm, Financial Services, Information Technology, and Development Projects among others) for private and government organizations across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Before taking up this position, Ricardo was the Managing Director for America and the Asia Pacific regions at Practical Thinking Group. Ricardo has lived and worked in several countries in the last 20 years and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

He is one of the sought-after international project management keynote speakers. He has presented at Project Management and Leadership Congresses for the past fifteen years in a row in several countries. In 2019, Ricardo received the PMI Fellow Award, the most prestigious individual award presented by Project Management Institute to recognize professionals for significant contribution to the project management profession and the Institute.
