What is the Global Celebration of Service?
Our 50th Anniversary is a time to reflect on the achievements of project managers and recognize the progress that the profession as a whole has made. We also see it as a time to pull together in service, contribute our collective skills and passion, and make a difference in the world together. PMI has partnered with the United Nations’ mission to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions that advance societal goals.
Why did PMI choose the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals?
The United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all individuals worldwide. They address the challenges we face as a global community. These goals are scalable and applicable to all project leaders around the world allowing everyone equal opportunity to make an impact through service projects.
What is PMI's goal?
PMI has committed to contributing 50,000 hours towards attaining these goals by 31 December 2019. We are calling upon PMI staff, members, chapters, credential holders, volunteers and any individuals or organizations who want to get involved to pledge their commitment in the form of hours of service.
