Under a disarmament treaty signed by 188 countries, the URS project team at the Umatilla Chemical Depot Facility in Hermiston, Oregon, USA safely destroyed more than 220,000 aging and decaying munitions. The project, which was honored as the 2012 PMI Project of the Year, was completed nearly six months ahead of the treaty deadline and millions of dollars under budget.
