Path to PMI-ACP certification

Before you apply, make sure you meet one of the following sets of PMI-ACP certification requirements:

Eligibility requirement

  • Secondary degree, such as a high school diploma, GED (general educational development), or global equivalent
  • 24 months/2 years of agile experience within the last 5 years (a current PMP® satisfies this requirement but is not mandatory
  • 28 hours of training in agile practices, frameworks, and methodologies. Candidates with a third-party certification or who have completed a GAC core project management course, are pre-approved to fulfill this requirement.

You're on the path toward career advancement. Once you verify your acceptance, the next step is to pay your exam fee.

In the case you’re selected for an eligibility audit

You must provide the following to confirm your eligibility:

  • Copy of degree
  • Verification of experience signed by colleague or supervisor
  • Certification or proof of 28 hours of project management training

Schedule your PMI-ACP exam

After you pay, you can schedule your exam. Below are some helpful details about exam scheduling:

  • You can take your exam at a Pearson Vue Testing Center (recommended) or securely online
  • You may attempt the exam up to three times in one year if you don't pass.

      Maintaining your PMI-ACP certification

      Earning your certification is a big step - maintaining it shouldn't have to be. Continuing education is core to PMI certification. PMI-ACP holders need to earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in each 3-year cycle to maintain certification. Each PDU represents one hour spent:
