As most of you are aware, I was elected as the president of the PMI Cyprus Chapter for the two-year period of 2019-2020, and it is an honour for me to serve this dynamic organization of dedicated and engaged professionals and practitioners.
PMI Cyprus has matured and grown even more in 2018 and 2019. Our mission to support the growth and development of project management practitioners in Cyprus, as well as build awareness and professionalism of the project management discipline and its critical role in business and organization success, is more active than ever. We have succeeded in being recognized as the professional organization and resource of choice for project management in Cyprus.
We have managed a 30% growth in our membership in 2018, while our estimations for 2019 are to maintain these members and grow another 10%.
We offered 7 professional events to our members in 2018, including the 2nd Project Management Conference in Cyprus, with more than 250 delegates attending. Our aim for 2019 is to have 7 or 8 professional events and our 3rd Project Management Conference to be even more successful than the previous two.
This year PMI is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The celebration of service has started and will go beyond 2019. PMI has committed to contributing 50,000 hours towards achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), identified by the United Nations, by 31 December 2019.
Together and jointly with you, our community members, we will get involved and pledge our commitment. Our celebrations for PMI’s 50th Anniversary will take place during our 3rd Project Management Conference, in November 2019.
Together we will continue creating success and bringing the project management impact and value to the Cyprus professional community.
Together we can do great things and make a difference, leading individuals and organizations to achieve outstanding performance.

PMI President and CEO's Message
One the greatest strengths of PMI as an organization is our network of volunteer-led chapters. Chapters are the backbone of PMI and volunteers are "our secret sauce." Volunteers continue to make such a significant impact with their passion, dedication and commitment.
I believe that both chapters and volunteers are our value enablers. This network of stakeholders gives us incredible insights to the challenges faced by project professionals in every corner of the world. And this community is an incredible platform to make an impact on some of the world’s biggest challenges we are facing today. All of you bring ideas to reality and bring visions to life.
