President's Message

Our Commitment to Foster Change
Have you been watching the news in despair? The countless stories, images, and videos? These are jarring reminders that we have a long road ahead of us. But PMIWDC is poised to continue the work needed to be the change we want to see. This means our organization will remain focused on long-lasting, systemic change within our ranks, within in our communities and most important, in ourselves.
It is important that our message is clear—bigotry and racism cannot occupy any space within our organization. This is a safe space where all are encouraged to engage and contribute to the profession and its members. It is the difference of opinion and approach that stokes innovation and creativity.
We support the efforts that seek to combat and counter acts of violence against people of color and create space for immediate improvements in their lives. As a chapter member of PMIWDC, whose collective membership encompasses a global community, we have the power and influence to call out inequality, bias, racism and violence but we must also act to bring about the needed changes. To accomplish this we commit to:
- Providing equal access to opportunity—assurance that our leadership and volunteer roster is inclusive, equitable and diverse.
- Ensuring we represent diversity among internal and external stakeholders.
- Creating strategies that foster talent development from within our membership to ensure that our voice is diverse.
If you or anyone you know wants to be a champion for diversity and inclusion and would like to join us in our volunteer service to the PMIWDC member community, please email [email protected] or go directly to the Volunteer Relationship Management System (VRMS).
On behalf of the PMIWDC board of directors, thank you for your support and commitment to the profession and your peers.
PMI President and CEO's Message

One the greatest strengths of PMI as an organization is our network of volunteer-led chapters. Chapters are the backbone of PMI and volunteers are "our secret sauce." Volunteers continue to make such a significant impact with their passion, dedication and commitment.
I believe that both chapters and volunteers are our value enablers. This network of stakeholders gives us incredible insights to the challenges faced by project professionals in every corner of the world. And this community is an incredible platform to make an impact on some of the world’s biggest challenges we are facing today. All of you bring ideas to reality and bring visions to life.
- Sunil Prashara, President & CEO
