Now a message from our PMIWDC Board/CEO, Tareka Wheeler
Engage: Building Connections That Matter
Engagement is at the heart of our Chapter's mission. In 2025, we will deepen our connections with our members, the broader project management community, and our valued partners and sponsors. This means creating more opportunities for you to network, share knowledge, and collaborate on initiatives that matter most. Our Chapter events, whether in-person or virtual, will be designed to spark meaningful conversations and connections. By strengthening our partnerships with organizations and thought leaders, we aim to amplify the impact of the project management profession throughout our region. Your voice and participation are critical to this effort. We encourage you to attend events, join the conversation, and contribute to growing the vibrant community that defines PMI Washington DC.
Empower: Supporting the Project Leaders of Today and Tomorrow
Empowerment is about providing the tools, resources, and encouragement for individuals at every stage of their project management journey. For our current and aspiring project management professionals, we will introduce new programs and initiatives to help you grow your skills and advance your career. We also recognize the importance of inspiring the next generation. By engaging with students and youth organizations, we aim to spark their interest in the project management profession. We will focus on creating experiences that not only empower, but also inspire you as you continue to navigate your career in project management. Together, we can create a supportive ecosystem where every member feels empowered to excel, grow, and make a difference.
Educate: Learning Together, Growing Together
Education is the cornerstone of professional development, and in 2025, we will double down on our commitment to providing high-quality training, mentorship, and opportunities for shared learning. Through monthly Chapter events, webinars, our Mentor Protégé program, annual conference, and knowledge-sharing events, we will ensure that members have access to new insights and best practices. By building a strong learning community, we can ensure that our Chapter remains a hub contributing to the project management profession and building up aspiring and current project management professionals across the region.
This Chapter belongs to you, our members! We want to hear from you: What do you value? What do you need? What would help you grow as a project professional? Your feedback and ideas are essential in shaping our initiatives and ensuring that our Chapter truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. Please share your thoughts with us throughout the year – your voice matters.
As we embark on this journey together, we invite you to play an active role in shaping the future of our Chapter. Whether it’s attending events, participating in a committee, or volunteering for a leadership role, your involvement is invaluable. There are countless opportunities to contribute, and each one allows you to grow both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact.
As your President and Chair of the Board of Directors, I am deeply committed to working alongside our Chapter leaders to deliver value and strategic impact for our members. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth, collaboration, and success. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events, engaging with you through our initiatives, and celebrating the achievements we will accomplish together.
Thank you for your dedication and passion for the project management profession. Let’s make this a remarkable year for PMI Washington DC!
