Professional Development Event Summary University of Cyprus Library

26 February 2019

Our first Professional Development Event for 2019, The Case Study of the "Learning Resource Centre Stelios Ioannou” Project, was held on Wednesday 20 February, at the University of Cyprus Library.

The event exposed our members to the challenges and implications involved in mega-projects, by listening to the person that oversaw the specific project’s work from the perspective of the employer. Mr Philippos Ioannou provided his personal experience in managing this project, which survived the financial crisis and other obstacles and challenges, and he shared important lessons learned. The participants also had the opportunity to see this remarkable landmark up and close through a guided tour.

We would like to thank Mr Ioannou for spending some of his valuable time for our Chapter, as well as those of our Chapter Members who attended. The certified Project Managers (PMPs®) will get 2 Professional Development Units (PDUs) for attending.

In addition, we would like to express our appreciation to the University of Cyprus for the hospitality and for the opportunity given to us to see this worldwide landmark.

Also, we would like to thank our Sponsors for 2009 (CIIM, KPMG, cdbbank, PrimeTel, Odyssey, Goldman and Qobo) for supporting our mission.

Having as a priority the professional growth of our members, the PMI Cyprus Chapter will continue offering activities that promote personal and professional development.
