Professional Development Finance Accounting for Project Managers

31 March 2019

Our second Professional Development Event for 2019, Finance and Accounting for Project Managers, was held on Wednesday 27 March, at the European Institute of Management and Finance (EIMF). The event explored fundamental financial accounting concepts and terms that project managers should be familiar with.

The presentation was delivered by Mr Marios Mortis, who explained that in today’s changing environment, the scope of the Project Manager’s job is becoming broader. As organisations become increasingly project-based, Project Managers need to be more financially savvy. He presented the basics of accounting and finance, budgeting and financial statements.

We would like to thank Mr Mortis for spending some of his valuable time for our Chapter, as well as those of our Chapter Members who attended. The certified Project Managers (PMPs®) will get 2.5 Professional Development Units (PDUs) for attending.

In addition, we would like to express our appreciation to the European Institute of Management and Finance (EIMF) for the hospitality.

Also, we would like to thank our Sponsors for 2009 (CIIM, KPMG, cdbbank, PrimeTel, Odyssey, Goldman and Qobo) for supporting our mission.

Having as a priority the professional growth of our members, the PMI Cyprus Chapter will continue offering activities that promote personal and professional development.
