Advisory Board Chairperson’s Message

Dear project professionals living in Ethiopia,
As you may be aware, PMI is the largest global community of project management practitioners. Therefore, the PMI Ethiopia Chapter serves as your local gateway to a host of exciting PMI benefits that include opportunities to network with peers and learn from their collective experiences, as well as provide great volunteering opportunities that will help you maintain your PMI certifications by providing professional development units (PDUs). The chapter will also be instrumental in assisting members in gaining sought-after PMI certifications in order to advance the project management profession in Ethiopia.
As Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification holder and PMI Ethiopian Formation Steering Committee chairperson, I have a firm belief that the transformations of country development, public service rendering and private sector development can be achieved through project management best practices. This is especially important for a country like Ethiopia, that has continual development needs, The project management profession will play a vital role in this development. That is why we have volunteered to bring the PMI Ethiopian Chapter to Ethiopia. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the PMI Chapter Development office for their support during the formation process. Since our chapter is in its infancy, I kindly call up all project management practitioners, either PMI certification holders or not, to reach out to the chapter and its executive board to volunteer with chapter activities.

President's Message

Welcome to the PMI Ethiopia Chapter! I am glad to invite all project management practitioners, organizations, industry leaders, business entities and institutions advocating for the advancement of project management in different fields around the globe to join our newly established PMI chapter so that we can work in collaboration for the progression of the profession and the benefit of our country and local communities. This is just the beginning. Ahead of us there are bright days in which our members will gain valuable knowledge through seminars, workshops and knowledge sharing platforms.
I am delighted to forward my honest appreciation to all the members, volunteers, and current board members whose energy, commitment and passion have made the chapter formation possible regardless of all challenges, with a true volunteer spirit.
I know so many project professionals have been waiting for this important milestone. This is a dream come true, and I look forward to a great year for the profession and for our chapter, with great achievements despite the current COVID-19 challenges for our industry. I hope you will join us and share your ideas as we carry on our efforts to support project management and project managers from all over the country.
