Friuli Venezia Giulia is a region with about 1.2 million inhabitants, equal to 2% of the territory of our country and 3.4% of the territory covered by the PMI-NIC. Compared to these small numbers, the region expresses great potential due, not only to its history, but above all to its strategic position as a gateway to Eastern Europe, both by sea and by land.
To all this is added the presence of companies of national and international importance, in industry (Fincantieri, Electrolux, Aeronautical Division of Monfalcone, Wärtsilä), in the service sector (Assicurazioni Generali, Allianz) and in wine and agricultural production (Friulano, Rosa di Gorizia). Furthermore, Trieste is one of the most important Italian scientific research centers (SISSA, INFN).
In these stimulating circumstances, a group of friends who are passionate about Project Management and their territory gave birth to the Branch of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The key themes that underlie the Branch's mission can be included in four main areas:
- Dissemination - training and education in the field of PM starting from primary schools.
- Internationalization - develop collaborations on common objectives with the Chapters of the neighboring countries, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria in particular.
- Territoriality - supporting regional excellence by integrating PM methodologies in periodic comparisons.
- Experimentation - develop new approaches and build new bridges with areas also apparently distant from the PM.
The planned initiatives are aimed in this direction:
- Budding projects: a competition for primary schools, the reference initiative of our Branch.
- In the cellar with the stakeholder: series of monothematic conferences held in prestigious regional cellars.
- Light UP !: interchapter collaborations aimed at developing new ideas and expanding the objectives of the chapters towards a global dimension.
- Business Event: thematic events distributed throughout the region to connect the business with project management.
