The Project Management Institute Washington DC Chapter (PMIWDC) is meeting in Reston at Noblis, 2002 Edmund Halley Dr, Reston, VA 20191 on Thursday, October 12th at 6 PM. There is plenty of free parking if you drive. For Metro riders Noblis is located on the south side of the Reston Town Center Metro stop. Food, drinks, and networking with new and old friends will be there.
We are featuring two speakers that will help you become a more effective leader. One of the Chapter Volunteers Mignon Edorh will be presenting “Practice your craft, forget about winning” where she shares some tips that have made her successful in her career at NASA. Our second presenter is Frank DiBartolomeo, a Distinguished Toastmaster who will present “Excellent Presentation Skills - The Key to Your Career Advancement”. Frank’s goal is to share the fine points of delivering an engaging, entertaining, and educational presentation.

Speakers
Frank DiBartolomeo is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in information technology. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Air Force’s Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College. Frank holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certifications. He is an award-winning speaker, a Professional Member of the National Speakers Association, a Toastmasters International member for over thirty (30) years, and founder and President of DiBartolomeo Consulting International (DCI), a presentation skills consulting company. Because of Frank’s outstanding work in public speaking and leadership, in 2002, he was awarded Toastmasters International’s highest individual award - Distinguished Toastmaster.
Frank has worked in the Defense industry as a U.S. Air Force Officer and defense contractor for over forty (40) years. His honed his ability to influence others through his public speaking as an engineer and technical leader in the military and industry which led to a succession of leadership positions as a program manager and senior systems engineer, including assignments at the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Pentagon, and, in industry, as the Deputy Lead Engineer on a 300-person national security program. He is a entrepreneur specializing in presentation, interview, and networking skills consulting. Frank has coached hundreds of speakers over his lifetime and has delivered many public speaking seminars and workshops. In 2007, Frank founded DiBartolomeo Consulting International (DCI), LLC, to help technical professionals inspire, motivate, and influence their colleagues and other technical professionals by improving their presentation skills, interview skills, and personal presence. Frank and his wife Elaine live in Centreville, Virginia, and have two grown children, Frank and Jacqueline.
Mignon Edorh was Sure Secure’s Digital Transformation Lead with expertise in transforming the way her clients operate their cloud environments for operational efficiency and asset security. Her most recent work has enabled Federal clients to accurately tag assets in the cloud and build efficiencies that optimize performance to realize significant cost savings. Under her leadership, her teams have defined the policies that ensure security controls are implemented into the software procurement life cycle.
Mignon also served as Sure Secure Solutions’ QMS manager and established the organizations processes to provide our clients the highestlevel of quality across all service areas. Mignon current serves as CompTIA Advisory Council member and assist by contributing her expertise and knowledge to CompTIA certifications development process. Mignon is an active PMIWDC technology volunteer. In her spare time, Mignon is more than likely picking up the most recent cyber security or cloud certification for fun or researching on cutting edge technology and industry changes.
