PMIWDC Reston - Developing a Structured Presentation

All PMs have to develop presentations to communicate, collaborate and get a wider buy-in. The Reston Community is bringing a hands-on approach to developing a presentation during this session. Patrick Amato will bring his expertise, as he has facilitated consensus building and collaboration, on how to develop effective presentations. We will Start with a clear goal, Use a logical flow, Use clear and concise language and emphasize how visuals support your points. In this Session you will learn:

Patrick Amato

Patrick Amato, Information Technology PM at the Johns Hopkins University. Patrick Amato serves in all aspects of customer centric information technology service creation, delivery, governance, and operations. Before joining Johns Hopkins University Mr. Amato held project, technical leadership and advisory positions with The U.S. Agency for International Development, The MITRE Corporation, Boeing Information Systems and the White House. These roles include advising on Agency-wide Global Health Technology Strategy, program management leadership for Enterprise Cyber Security, and the initiation, deploy and operation of cloud computing solutions.

Mr. Amato also proposed, championed and led the Digital Workplace exploration effort intended as a fast and low cost enterprise information technology incubator. Uniquely skilled in explaining complex technology to diverse audiences and decision makers using metaphor, narrative, use cases and expected outcome benefit frameworks. He is an empathetic, caring and an active listener. Mr. Amato has advised startups and delivered results to 10,000 plus strong organizations. His software products have been used by over 200 million people, processed over $1 Billion in transactions and improved lives across the globe. Mr. Amato is passionate about deploying and operating solutions and inspiring that joy in others. Mr. Amato earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science degree in technical management from Johns Hopkins University and is a certified Project Management Professional and Discipline Agile Scrum Master. He lives in Montgomery County Maryland with his wife, son and a large extended family, programs in Python and is looking for a good place to play Pickleball.
