PMI Western Australia Chapter

President's Message

Natalya Townson

Welcome to the PMI Western Australia Chapter!

Whether you are a new member, continuing or re-joining member, or one of the original members from our founding in 1991, PMI WA brings together our project professional community by providing opportunities for networking and professional development, and partnerships and initiatives with local universities and other not-for-profit organisations and community groups.

Here in Perth and Western Australia, project professionals and change leaders work across a diverse range of industries and significant projects, from resources and construction, to IT and business change, uniting us with common interests and a shared purpose to deliver value for our organisations and stakeholders.

For 2020-2021, our chapter priorities were: professional development; diversity and inclusion; and chapter and volunteer development. We strive to create and offer opportunities in each of these themes, and always invite new ideas and support volunteers to lead and develop these ideas into programs and member outcomes.

In 2021, the chapter will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Hurrah! This achievement is made possible by our volunteers and chapter leaders, supported by PMI, who in turn develop future leaders to serve our members and the professional community by developing the chapter and its programs. Together, and as part of PMI in Australia and globally, we aim to connect, learn, and grow together for many more years to come.

PMI President and CEO's Message

CEO Sunil Prashara

One the greatest strengths of PMI as an organization is our network of volunteer-led chapters. Chapters are the backbone of PMI and volunteers are "our secret sauce." Volunteers continue to make such a significant impact with their passion, dedication and commitment.

I believe that both chapters and volunteers are our value enablers. This network of stakeholders gives us incredible insights to the challenges faced by project professionals in every corner of the world. And this community is an incredible platform to make an impact on some of the world’s biggest challenges we are facing today. All of you bring ideas to reality and bring visions to life.

- Sunil Prashara, President & CEO
