Description

Being a leader requires a variety of skills, tools, and talents. But today’s leaders are tasked with challenges above and beyond just possessing a tailored skill set. An adaptive leader is faced with complex challenges that shift and evolve over time. Transition, changes, and difficult decision-making are all par for the course,  and an adaptive leader must aid an organization and its individuals with breaking down the standards and achieving organizational success through change. This training provides a highly engaging and interactive learning environment for true adaptive leaders to develop and hone their skills.

Module 1:  Introduction

  • Refresh understanding of Relationship Awareness® Theory and Strength Deployment Inventory®
  • Establish awareness of Emotional Intelligence capabilities
  • Reinforce breadth and depth of conflict management fundamentals
  • Reinforce breadth and depth of conflict management fundamentals
  • Share stakeholder engagement and communications best practices

Module 2:  Relationship Awareness® Theory and Strength Deployment Inventory®

  • Review of motivational value system and recognize the associated behaviors
  • Review of Relationship Awareness® Theory concepts
  • Review of Strength Deployment Inventory ® Theory
  • Define what effective leaders do in contrast to what poor leaders do

Module 3:  Emotional Intelligence

  • Understand the relationship of Emotional Intelligence to leadership agility
  • Understand Emotional Intelligence Framework's domains and capabilities
  • Manage your evolution of Emotional Intelligence capabilities
  • Recognize Emotional Intelligence capabilities in others as a method to enable impactful relationships

Module 4:  Conflict Management

  • Identify when personal strengths become weaknesses
  • Identify behaviors under conditions of conflict
  • Identify conflict resolution techniques and when to use them
  • Effectively identify and manage difficult stakeholders
  • Develop a plan for holding a difficult conversation

Module 5: Communications Within the Team Environment

  • Create plans for better communication
  • Identify how we set and manage expectations 
  • Describe the Ladder of Inference and its application
  • Understand how to interpret and use body language
  • Understand the importance of using both verbal and non-verbal conversations
  • Understand how to better prepare for and conduct difficult conversations

Module 6:  Effective Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize stakeholders
  • Recognize the need for a stakeholder register
  • Develop questions to ask key stakeholders to better manage and influence their engagement
  • Recognize the types of power you have
  • Identify the principles of influence and determine an influence strategy
  • Identify principles of negotiation and determine a negotiation strategy
