How to Apply Principles for Successful Project, Programs, and Portfolio Management with Klaus Nielsen and Giampaolo Marucci

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Manage the use of principles at the project, program, and portfolio levels.
  • Identify and assess alignment with principles at any level.
  • Justify the benefits of being principle driven.

Description

Over the last 50 years, considerable effort has been invested in formalizing the practice of both project and program management by developing standards and guidelines, a significant number of which are based on stated or implied principles. In recent years, principles at the portfolio level are also the new norm. Principles are important as fundamental truths or propositions that serve as the foundation for a system of behavior or reasoning.

During this intensive, 2-day training, we will uncover what principles are all about and value the importance and benefits of being governed by principles. In addition, we will identify and learn to apply tools and techniques to support the alignment of our actions to our expected behavior.

Day 2 will take the understanding and application of project management principles to the next level as we will apply the knowledge of principles to the program and portfolio levels through practical and engaging scenario-based learning.
