The Art of Tailoring While Building the Business Case with Klaus Nielsen

The business case, both as a product and a process, provides decision makers, stakeholders and the public with a management tool for evidence based and transparent decision making and a framework for the delivery, management and performance monitoring of the resultant scheme.  There is a heavy emphasis on the product of the business case development, rather than the processes that can damage business case development. Creating a business case development process based upon an iterative stage-gate model and the use of best practices may increase both the quality and trustworthiness of the business case, while allowing the organization to end any business cases that are of little value as quickly as possible.  This seminar is a full two-D simulation where participants actively engage in the planning and developing of a business case in a project environment with heavy emphasis on the need for tailoring, agile and adaptations for the project manager and the application of best practice knowledge of mastering the business case. It’s all about quality in the process of the project and the process of developing the business case to ensure high quality products, business case or project deliveries.

Klaus Nielsen

Klaus Nielsen, Master in E-Commerce and dual MBA (HRM and Technology) holder from the US who has worked in project, programs management and as a professional business analysts for more than 15 years, and has been embracing PMI and agile tools, techniques, knowledge, skills and methodologies for the last 10 of those years. Author of the books I am Agile (2013); Mastering the Business Case (2015), Achieve PMI-PBA® Exam Success (2015), Agile Certified Practitioner Exam (2015) and writer of several industry articles published worldwide.

Mr. Nielsen is the co-founder of Global Business Development (, a PMI Registered Education Provider (R.E.P) company where he trains and consults to businesses ranging from small start-ups to top 500 companies worldwide. For the last seven years Klaus have taught part-time at the IT University of Copenhagen as faculty lecture and is a frequent speaker at events, conferences and tradeshows.
