Need to Know

Important Changes to PMP Exam & ATP Program Timeline

PMI is committed to the safety and well-being of our global community. Our Crisis Task Force is monitoring the situation arising from coronavirus (COVID-19) daily. We are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our customers, and meet their needs. As a result, we made the following important decisions:

  • Extending the current PMP exam to 31 December 2020 and delaying the launch of the new PMP exam until 2 January 2021
  • Automatically extending all candidates’ exam eligibility (for all certifications - not just the PMP) through 18 January 2021
  • Delaying the opening of our Authorized Training Partner program application, originally scheduled for 19 March 2020

More about the ATP program changes can be found here. And please bookmark our COVID-19 Update Page as we are updating it regularly with impacts to events, certifications, and other activities.

Action Items

2020 Charter Renewal is Now Open – New Requirement

The 2020 charter renewal, reporting on the 2019 business year, is now open. Please complete your charter renewal which is due on 31 March 2020. All chapters are required to renew their charter in order to remain compliant. The chapter’s completed 2020 Annual Plan & Catalog Worksheet must be uploaded to the components system (CS) as part of the charter renewal process. Please refer to the charter renewal faqs and reach out to your chapter staff with any questions.

Brand Update

Chapter Website Rebranding Extension

The deadline to rebrand your chapter website has been extended until 30 April 2020.

Chapter logo packages are being uploaded to the Marketing Portal on a regular basis. We realize some chapters may still be in the revision process; please work with your chapter partner to have these completed as soon as possible.

Once you have your logo, please reach out to your web service provider. If you utilize Proteon, Star Chapter, or MG2 Media, they will invoice PMI directly for the cost of the rebrand up to $US500. Also, the brand team has connected with the 3 vendors to review and approve chapter websites as they are being completed.

If your chapter does not utilize the above providers, please send your vendor the brand guidelines, chapter logo and font files. In order to be reimbursed up to $US500 the brand team has to approve each chapter’s website. Please reach out to Sue.Verica@pmi.org for approval. And, include her early in the process so if edits are needed it can be done before the work is completed. To be reimbursed follow these instructions and include your invoice

Please review these approved branded websites to help your chapter in rebranding: pmisydney.org, pmiguayas.org, pmirochester.org and pmi.org.uk.
