In its typical agile fashion, the PMI Silicon Valley Symposium Volunteer Team adeptly transitioned to remote collaboration this year to successfully plan and hold their annual symposium virtually on 9-10 October 2020. Bill Miller, SVP and CIO of NetApp, kicked off the event with his empowering keynote encompassing takeaways, “The rate of change will always be faster than it was yesterday. We're adapting to new modes of where and how we get work done. PMs are natural and respected partners in change.” The diverse lineup of experienced speakers followed showcasing this year’s event theme, “Working Together, Apart: Leadership skills, tools and practices for building inclusiveness in disconnected project teams.” Speaker topics included tools, techniques and leadership for remote management as well as best practices for advanced analytical methods and increasing agile maturity models.
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive including comments such as:
All those involved in organizing this event did a great job! Great topics, amazing content and very well managed all the way!
The timing of all events was perfect for my work schedule. I hope future events will be offered online even when things are back to “normal”.
As always, a great opportunity to learn as a PM, thanks so much for making it happen this year.
The PMISV Board of Directors expresses heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated speakers and volunteers who provided valuable efforts over many months to make this annual event successful.
