Since its first edition in 2015, the Africa Conference has been aimed at bringing together hundreds of project, programme and portfolio managers from around the world and increasing PMI exposure on the continent. PMI Africa Chapters have played a key role in the PMI Africa Conference, being the first initiators of the event, back in 2015, and thriving as active supporters of all following editions.
This year, challenged by the global pandemic, we determined the best way to protect the safety of our stakeholders was not to proceed with hosting an in-person event, but instead reconfigure the conference into a virtual experience.
That gives us the opportunity to try something new for the event’s fifth edition: the Virtual Africa Conference, that took place last Sunday, 6 September.
We offered a comprehensive program, with keynote presentations, break-out sessions, and three concurrent tracks, one of which offered a full-day track designed for Youth with the objective of inspiring young professionals to realize their potential and their ability to make an impact and transform lives through project management and introduced Youthquake Challenge.
Also, on a continuous path to sense and react to the market demands and challenges while focusing on the core customer needs, we offered French language subtitles for all the sessions. The event attracted over 2,200 delegates from 90 countries around the world including–business leaders, entrepreneurs, professors, humanitarians and industry experts.
