As PMI is transforming, we’re taking opportunities to make our resources more relevant and valuable for all our stakeholders—Friday Facts included. Starting with the 11 January edition of this bi-weekly newsletter, Friday Facts is now called PMInsight and the content will also be posted on the Volunteer Resource Center.
This provides ONE convenient place for you to access information and resources related to your PMI volunteer role. Throughout January and February, you’ll continue to receive the e-newsletter while also having access to the content on the VRC. Starting in March, the content will be posted solely on the VRC and you’ll receive an email notifying you of new content.
Moving forward, we’ll continue publishing content on chapter operations and governance, but will also provide content to address the needs of our senior volunteers. If you have any questions on this new and exciting change, contact your chapter partner.
PMI launched the Chapter Member Satisfaction Survey to all chapter members the week of January 21st. Individual responses and specific answers enable chapter leaders to gauge satisfaction and engagement as well as measure progress against strategic goals. Members will be given until the week of February 18th to complete their responses. If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact your chapter partner.
The importance of being a volunteer was highlighted by the PMI Armenia Chapter at their inaugural annual conference, which was attended by more than 300 professionals. Learn more about this event by reading the full chapter highlight article.

PMI Senior Vice President, Administration and Interim Executive, Joseph Cahill was in Davos, Switzerland this week along with Murat Bicak, Senior Vice President, Strategy, and Ricardo Vargas, Executive Director, the Brightline™ Initiative, during The World Economic Forum (WEF) discussing the impact of the digital revolution on project management and how project leaders can prepare for the future. Davos has attracted global leaders from governments and corporations for almost 50 years and this year was no different. Apple CEO Tim Cook, Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma, and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg were among some star CEOs that attended sessions focusing on this year’s main theme, “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
On Tuesday, Joe kicked off a panel discussion for senior leaders titled Humans 2.0. The Brightline™ Initiative, PMI and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) hosted The Economist Events panel discussion, which addressed how business leaders can sharpen their ability to respond to the inevitable challenges that will arise as a result of disruptive technologies. Weren’t able to watch the panel live? Watch the entire discussion here.
Joe and Ricardo also participated in a television interview featured on Reuters: The Business Debate where they discussed the digital revolution, AI and how the Fourth Industrial Revolution will affect project management as well as the gap between strategy and implementation.
