Chapter Leaders: The 2019 charter renewal is now open. Please complete your PMI charter renewal that is due on 31 March 2019. All PMI chapters are required to renew their PMI charter in order to remain compliant with PMI.
2019 Chapter Information Security Questionnaire
PMI will launch an information security questionnaire to all chapter presidents the week of 18 February. Chapter responses and specific answers will enable PMI to gain a deeper understanding of how chapters manage member data and practice responsible information security behavior. Chapters will be given until the week of 22 April to complete their responses. If you have any questions regarding the questionnaire, please contact your chapter partner.

The Global Celebration of Service is on, and your chapter can participate!
While many exciting events and activities will take place this year to commemorate PMI’s 50th Anniversary, the Global Celebration of Service is truly the cornerstone of the festivities, embodying the spirit of giving back that PMI has always been about. Our goal is to engage PMI chapters, members, volunteers and credential holders to get involved in service projects that support the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals—a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. PMI volunteers and staff on hand at LIVPM were the very first to participate in this initiative, contributing 345 hours toward our ultimate goal of 50,000 hours pledged by the end of 2019.
Whether your chapter has already been involved in service projects that help your local community or you would like to get your chapter started on a new project, we’d love to hear about it. Please visit PMI.org/Anniversary and go to the Pledge Form to tell us about your project and pledge your hours. We encourage you to tell your story in a video and share it to #PMI50 to help us spread the word! Be sure to check back often to see the pledged hours meter as well as videos shared by fellow chapter leaders and members around the world!
Improved User Experience for PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® Exam
Starting 1 April 2019, the PMI-ACP® exam will now be delivered entirely through the vendor Pearson VUE. Pearson VUE offers over 5,000 computer testing centers worldwide and PMI-ACP candidates will now have the opportunity to take the exam online while being monitored by an online proctor from their home or office.
The exam fees for the PMI-ACP will remain the same and candidates can schedule their exam (online or at a testing center) beginning 1 March 2019. However, the first day a candidate can take the exam is 1 April 2019.
Candidates who are eligible to take the PMI-ACP exam will be directed to the Pearson VUE site to schedule their exams on 1 March. Also, the PMI-ACP handbook in English will be updated by 1 March to reflect this change. We will also communicate in PMInsight when the translated handbooks have been updated to reflect this change. We just wanted to make you aware of this change in case your chapter members come to you with questions. There is no action needed from you at this point.
On 19 February 2019 at 12:00 PM EST (UTC-5) PMI will guide new members to the resources, networks and knowledge that will help them advance their career. Between 16 and 20 January, PMI welcomed 144 senior volunteer leaders (including the PMI Board of Directors, Board support committees, Advisory Groups and mentors) traveling from 35 countries to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA for the 2019 Leadership Institute Volunteer Planning Meeting (LIVPM). Welcomed by 2019 PMI Board of Directors Chair Randy Black, senior volunteer leaders also heard from Senior Vice President of Strategy Murat Bicak and Interim Executive Joe Cahill, who shared transformation updates and reiterated PMI’s strategic direction. In addition to general sessions and meetings to plan work for the year, senior volunteer leaders participated in a day of service to benefit four Philadelphia area nonprofits. This day of service helped kick off PMI’s yearlong celebration of service as part of our 50th anniversary celebration. For more information on PMI’s 50th anniversary, visit PMI.org/anniversary.
