What's the best project management advice you've received?

Plan for everything going wrong—you won't be disappointed!

What attracted you to project management?

The power of being able to successfully deliver positive value and outcomes.

How do you use project management in everyday life?

My wife and I built our own home. It required a large amount of funding, planning, execution and resilience.

What's the biggest challenge in your current project?

Getting alignment from a wide range of stakeholders. You need a high level of engagement throughout the journey to deliver value, particularly during the final stages.

What's most rewarding about your job?

The people and teams. The culture within and around a team will ultimately drive the success or failure of your project.

What's a famous project you wish you could have worked on?

Google Glass. It was the perfect—or imperfect—combination of innovation, complexity, cultural transference and value.

The culture within and around a team will ultimately drive the success or failure of your project.

To whom would you give an honorary PMI credential?

Frank Zappa. He was a consummate and sometimes controversial leader who allowed his band to constantly improvise, but always within his vision.
