A roadmap for IT project implementation
integrating stakeholders and change management issues
The high rate of failure that is common among information technology projects has prompted numerous project management researchers to develop and propose models that may help practitioners more effectively implementing such endeavors. This article examines one such model, one based on an integrated approach and emphasizing project stakeholder contributions. In doing so, it overviews a few studies on this subject that have been published over the past thirty years, pointing out the evolving change in research focus; it explains the foundation--the authors' combined field experience working in change management--that informed the proposed the approach and its various tools for managing IT projects.
