Project offices in practice

Project management is a complex and difficult task; projects are started with the best of intentions and oftentimes end in higher costs and shattered expectations. Organizations have not yet recognized how strong project management skills can contribute to achieving business objectives. However, things are starting to change; project management is slowly being recognized by organizations as a core competency. Internal training and certification programs are being put in place by large corporations, and the linkages between poor project management and business impacts are starting to receive serious board-level scrutiny.
