Resource allocation

a comparative study

When project managers efficiently allocate their project's available resources, they are ensuring that they effectively optimize the potential of their materials and labor, a potential that is often best accomplished with the help of software systems. This paper compares the resource allocation capacity of four computer packages: ARTEMIS, CIPREC, PREMIS, and PROJECT/2. It first describes the capabilities of each package and explains the test project, a hypothetical effort to construct a garage. It then identifies the four criteria used to test these systems and evaluates the performance of each. It concludes by summarizing the study's results.
