Strength in Unity: PMIEF and Special Olympics Ukraine

In the face of adversity, Special Olympics Ukraine has demonstrated unwavering resilience and determination. The organization, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, faced significant challenges after their facilities were destroyed in Ukraine.

Amidst this turmoil, the Special Olympics community refused to let these athletes regress. The collaborative efforts of friends, family, and global partners, including the PMI Educational Foundation, helped to rebuild and support the athletes, coaches and volunteers. Funding and resources from the PMIEF proved crucial in this rebuilding process.

The impact of these efforts shone brightly during the Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin, where 7,000 athletes from 180 nations showcased their abilities. Team Ukraine alone took home 21 medals at this year’s world finals. Their journey became more than just a sports event;--- it became a celebration of life, an inspiration, and a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
