There’s a lot of change happening to our certification portfolio in 2019 as part of our commitment to place our customers at the center of everything we offer (Customer Centricity). As valued partners, PMI is committed to communicating directly with our R.E.P.s, including by providing never-before-offered resources and by responding directly to your tough questions. Here’s what you need to know:
New! 2019 PMP® Resource to Support Content Alignment
When our PMP® becomes future-proof with a 2019 update, we want our R.E.P.s to be prepared to meet their customers’ test prep needs. With this update, we’re offering our partners a brand new resource to support their content alignment.
Our Pearson Vue test center migration is well underway, offering R.E.P.s opportunities in never-before-available geographies. Not only is there more global coverage available, but many of our new test centers are also able to host a larger number of candidates than previous test sites.
Our commitment to maintaining the quality and security of our credentials also drives us to continue our current practice of disallowing R.E.P.s to also serve as test centers. We are grateful for the security and protection offered by Pearson Vue to ensure training and testing are kept separate. This protects both our R.E.P.s and our candidates from conflict of interest.
To accommodate our R.E.P.s who are currently in this position, a six-month period of waiving this policy is being allowed. PMI and Pearson Vue are working together to identify a solution to this problem and will ensure you are informed as information becomes available.
Prospective and Current CAPM® Certification Holders
Starting in August, the 1,500 hours of working experience will be eliminated for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification holder applicants. CAPM® certification holders applying for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification will no longer need the required 35 education hours. This creates a pathway between the CAPM® and the PMP® credentials certification.
Once awarded, the business associated with a posted RFP should email John.Char@pmi.org with the organization's name and the date in which they are awarded. This will help us with our continued evaluation of the RFP tool and implement improvements for the future.
