Prepare for the Updated PMP Exam

Starting 26 March 2018, the updated Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam will reflect new terminology in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Sixth Edition, released in September 2017.

Students and chapter members will be able to take the current PMP exam (which used the PMBOK® Guide – Fifth Edition as a reference) through 25 March.

Exam Updates

The exam content outline will remain the same. However, we encourage students to look in the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition for:

  • Content on agile throughout the Guide and in an Appendix.
  • Four new sections in each Knowledge Area:
    • Key Concepts
    • Trends and Emerging Practices
    • Tailoring Considerations
    • Agile/Adaptive Environments
  • Greater emphasis on strategic and business knowledge.
  • New chapter on the role of project manager and the PMI Talent Triangle®.

Please update your curricula and training materials as needed.
