A New Generation of Leaders Has Arrived

For identifying the rock star salespeople—and then serving up tips on how others can follow in their footsteps

There’s all sorts of software that can keep company execs updated on their sales teams and what they’re doing in the field—but only if the system is continually updated. And salespeople often don’t have the time to do that. Spotting some white space, Yamini Bhat teamed up with ex-Googler Venkat Malladi to create Vymo. Through machine learning and data analytics, the app captures sales activities, learns what the top performers do and then suggests actions to help others achieve better results.

The virtual sales assistant is now used by more than 250,000 sales representatives at over 65 companies, including AIA, AXA and Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies. Even at a time when many companies are clutching their purse strings, Bhat is driving global expansion, breaking into the U.S. market in 2021 and raising an additional US$22 million early this year. She has called recent milestones "momentous," but it’s clear Bhat and her company are just getting started.
