  • The Future 50 program honors 50 standout Rising Leaders who are reshaping the future and accelerating innovation through projects in their industries and around the world. Explore our 2023 Future 50 honorees.

  • To select Future 50 honorees, PMI connects with expert stakeholders across the globe to identify potential candidates for the program. Nominations are then vetted through independent research and interviews, with honorees chosen who best represent the full spectrum of regions, industries, and project achievements.

  • Honorees must be no more than age 35 and have at least one major achievement within the project management space that is ambitious, innovative, impressive, or game-changing. The program highlights the work and accomplishments an honoree has achieved to date, while also touching on their plans/vision for the future.

  • Yes! Future 50 honorees do not need the title of project manager, but their work should involve projects. Many Future 50 alumni have the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification but it is not a requirement to be nominated. What unites the Future 50 is a commitment to project work as the foundation of positive impact, for today and tomorrow.

  • Yes, you can nominate multiple people from the same organization but please note that Future 50 seeks representation across a variety of industries, regions, and organizations. Honorees will be gender-balanced, as well as ethnically and experientially diverse.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee a candidate’s selection. We receive a large number of qualified applicants with impressive accomplishments and the selection committee aims to ensure that there is diverse mix from our global community.

  • Yes, there is a possibility that someone from PMI or one of our partners will be contacting various nominees to understand more about their background and experiences. This is solely an attempt to learn more about the nominee and is not a guarantee or signal that a nominee will be selected as a Future 50 honoree.

  • No, the Future 50 honorees are not ranked as they are a group of 50 young leaders that represents the full spectrum of regions, industries, and achievements.

  • Being selected as a Future 50 honoree is a fantastic opportunity to elevate the profiles of these young leaders! In addition to being featured on a dedicated microsite, honorees will be featured in our promotions of the Future 50. This includes but is not limited to global social media campaigns from PMI social channels, a press release, blog posts, and more.

    Honorees will receive a social media toolkit to promote the award within their community and potentially receive invitations to network with fellow and past honorees as well as possible global PMI speaking engagements.

  • The nomination process for our 202 honorees is open now and closes on August 30.

  • The Future 50 honorees will be announced on International Project Management Day, November 7.
