To celebrate our 50th anniversary, Project Management Institute (PMI) is expanding its MADE POSSIBLE campaign to tap the passion of professional project managers in driving social good around the world and recognizing those motivating change.
Launched in the fall of 2018, MADE POSSIBLE is focused on engaging all PMI stakeholders – from members and certification holders to chapter leaders and volunteers – and rallying them around a common vision of making a positive impact on society through project management.
As a signature component of the MADE POSSIBLE campaign, PMI recently signed on to the United Nation's (UN) Global Compact, joining a network of more than 9,500 companies based in over 160 countries and representing nearly every sector. UN Global Compact partners work to align their strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, as well as to take actions that advance societal goals. Through this partnership, PMI will look for ways to apply project, program and portfolio management to help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The UN's Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each Goal and target by 2030.
