My Tran played a pivotal role in shaping the PMI Sydney, Australia Chapter, driving strategic changes and fostering its growth in multiple capacities. Upon joining the board in 2023, she assessed and revamped the chapter's volunteering strategy, significantly increasing engagement and laying a sustainable foundation for future initiatives. Recognizing the need for a Social Good mission, My Tran revitalized the Project Management Day of Service, enhancing outreach to local charities. Her leadership expanded the Volunteers Community from 6 to 76 members, implementing innovative programs and recognition awards. She seamlessly collaborated with board members, volunteers, and PMI staff, enhancing team cohesion and operational efficiency. Beyond her role, My Tran championed gender diversity and equity, advocating through panels and initiatives like university capstone projects and the Australian Project Management Research Summit. Her leadership style, characterized by empathy and collaborative spirit, embodies PMI values.
