What’s New

Disciplined Agile Instructor Update

Starting 31 December, 2024, the ATP Program will no longer be accepting NEW instructors for the legacy DA products (DASM, DASSM, DAC, DAVSC). In January, we will announce more details on how instructors can train on the upcoming DA Foundations and DA Leadership courses that will launch in 2025. If you have questions, please contact [email protected] for support.

15 March 2025 | Legacy DA Instructor Badge – DECOMMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT

On 31 May, 2025, the legacy Disciplined Agile Instructor badges will be decommissioned/removed. If you hold a DASM, DASSM, DAC, and/or DAVSC instructor badge, these will no longer be visible/accessible via the Credly platform as of this date. As we prepare to change our DA strategy, we will only maintain instructor badges for the new DA product offerings (DA Foundations and DA Leadership) moving forward in 2025.

ACTION REQUIRED: If you have a legacy DA Instructor badge posted to social media, company website, etc. you MUST REMOVE the image no later than 31 May, 2025 to align with the decommission date. Our compliance team will be checking sites to ensure these images are removed accordingly.

15 March 2025 | Important Update: Evolution to Disciplined Agile® Portfolio

As PMI continues to evolve the Disciplined Agile® (DA) portfolio, we are excited to introduce Disciplined Agile Foundations, a new course designed to provide learners with essential agile knowledge for team and enterprise agility. This course will replace DASM and will officially launch on 29 April 2025.

Additionally, PMI is merging the DAVSC and DAC certifications into a new Disciplined Agile Leadership course, which will be available in Q4 2025

What This Means For Your Organization

  • Starting 29 April, PMI will promote Disciplined Agile Foundations to the public, directing learners to ATP courses for instructor-led training options.
  • To ensure a seamless transition, qualified instructors can now begin the Disciplined Agile Foundations Train-the-Trainer program and access eLearning materials.
    • As part of our pre-registration process, pre-registered instructors received an email on 2 April with instructions to take their required training to earn their instructor badge.
    • Once your instructor completes their training, you will be able to purchase instructor materials for the course. Student materials will become available upon launch, on 29 April.
  • Authorized Training Partners can list Disciplined Agile Foundations courses in the ATP course directory in advance of the launch date.
  • Missed the pre-registration deadline? Here are the steps required for instructors to qualify for the Train the Trainer on and after 2 April:
    • Instructor must hold either a PMI-ACP, DAC, and/or DAVSC.
    • Instructor must take the DA Foundations course (as a learner). The eLearning is available for purchase on pmi.org.
    • Once the instructor meets qualifications above, the ATP can email [email protected] to submit instructor name and PMI ID for our qualification review.

Why is PMI evolving the Disciplined Agile portfolio?

Based on community and customer feedback, we are evolving the DA portfolio to best meet the needs of learners, organizations, and our partners.

These changes will better align and differentiate DA within the broader PMI agile portfolio, clearly positioning it as a learning solution for teams, enterprises, and individuals that need to understand how to combine agile and traditional ways of working for complex environments.

Companies increasingly seek learning solutions that meet immediate upskilling needs and guide practical and effective implementation. The DA evolution shifts the portfolio’s primary focus from individual certification to group training, clearly defining its target audience. Additionally, this distinguishes PMI-ACP as the approach-agnostic, agile-focused gold standard certification program for practitioners.

What's changing?

Starting 29 April, the following evolution will take place:

  •  The DASM certification will transition to Disciplined Agile Foundations: Approaches for Team Agility. It will be available as an eLearning and as an instructor-led course. This evolution will happen on 29 April.
  •  The DAVSC and DAC certifications will merge into a single instructor-led learning course named Disciplined Agile Leadership: Value Delivery for Enterprise Agility. This new course will be available in Q4.
  •  The Basics of Disciplined Agile; online course will transition to Disciplined Agile Essentials. This will be free for PMI members.
  •  To qualify to teach the new instructor-led courses, ATP instructors must hold a relevant DA certification and take the corresponding Train the Trainer and eLearning course, which became available on 2 April for DA Foundations and will become available later in the year for DA Leadership.
  •  There is a separate process to qualify new instructors that do not hold DA certifications or teach DA courses. Please reach out to [email protected].

  • After 31 May, ATPs will no longer be able to purchase course material for these courses.

Important Information

ATP Administrator Reminder Uploading courses to the EPP Education Provider Portal

ATPs should create and maintain PDU and Specialty courses on the EPP. This allows public courses to be searchable. This also assigns the PDU code for the course so students can claim their earned PDUs post-course completion.

Please visit the EPP User Guide for more information on creating and managing courses on the EPP.
