New! PMI Senior Construction Professional (PMI-SCP)™
Now PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™ certification holders can continue their learning journey by earning the PMI Senior Construction Professional (PMI-SCP)™. They can uncover more specific project management principles that relate to the construction industry by completing the following advanced courses:
- Construction Execution Planning
- Construction Technology and Innovation
- Construction Performance and Materials Management
PMI Authorized Training Partners (ATPs), who are resellers, can sell the eLearning courses that comprise the advanced construction curriculum. If you are a Premier Level Authorized Training Partner, you can become a reseller as a benefit of your program level. Basic Level Authorized Training Partners can participate in the PMI Authorized Training Partner Reseller Program for an extra fee.
Instructor-led courses for the advanced construction curriculum are already available to our PMI Authorized Training Partners (ATPs). If you want to expand your offerings to include the advanced courses required for the PMI-SCP™, please contact your account manager or [email protected].
Refreshed Course and Exam Design for PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™
With a refreshed course + exam design and a simplified name, we seek to build greater awareness and growth for this specialized offering. There have been four major changes to the construction project portfolio.
- First the course titles have been shortened.
- Second, the certification name has changed.
- Third we are making it easier to earn the PMI-CP certification.
- Fourth we have working on a new designation of PMI Senior Construction Professional (PMI-SCP)™ for those who have completed all seven courses and three micro-credentials.

What is PMI-CP Certification?
The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is the only internationally recognized certification that offers an in-depth curriculum on the construction industry.
This advanced certification empowers working professionals—to elevate their careers. It prepares construction project managers to lead, plan, and manage contracts. It also equips them to navigate challenges and stay relevant in an ever-evolving field.
ATTENTION PMI-CP™ Instructors - ACTION REQUIRED
As of 1 October 2024, all PMI-CP instructors will be REQUIRED to hold the PMI-CP certification. All current instructors are registered for the four core construction courses required to sit for the PMI-CP exam. Please note that you must complete these four courses, complete your micro-credential exam, and sit for the actual certification exam to earn the certification by 1 October 2024 to continue to teach courses in Construction.
Once you are ready to sit for your micro-credential exam and certification exam, please email [email protected], and we will provide ONE complimentary attempt for each.
For Qualified Instructors
Before 1 July
- Complete the four core courses (no cost)
- Request the micro-credential exam (no cost for 1st attempt)
- Request the PMI-CP exam (no cost for 1st attempt)
- No cost for courses and exams before July 1st.
After 1 July
- After July 1 courses & exams will have a fee.
- Continue to teach the courses you have taken, until September 30, even if you have not yet earned the PMI-CP certification.
Before 1 October
- Earn the PMI-CP certification or you will not be able to teach any construction courses.
- PMI-CP instructor badge will be revoked.
- All instructor kit access will also be revoked.
- Only the PMI-CP instructor badges are impacted.
PMI-CP Student and Instructor Kits Available
Student Kits for (PMI-CP)™ are available for purchase. ATPs with a qualified trainer will now have access to any PMI-CP course the trainer has completed. If you want to expand your offerings to include PMI-CP, please get in touch with your account manager or [email protected].
Instructor kits for PMI-CP are also available to ATPs with a qualified instructor. We invite you to purchase and examine these cutting-edge materials as a key asset at your disposal.
The PMI-CP certification is your gateway to excellence in the construction industry. Crafted by construction industry experts specifically for working professionals, PMI-CP is the only internationally recognized certification that offers a deep understanding of construction industry challenges and equips you with the skills to conquer them.

- PMI-CP certification complete by 1 October 2024
- 10 years of construction experience
- 5 years of instruction experience
- Completion of Train the Trainer
