Dr. Kelly Heuer

As Vice President of Learning at Project Management Institute (PMI), Dr. Kelly Heuer brings more than two decades of experience in higher education to lead PMI's Professional Development and Standards & Publications and continue PMI’s legacy as a provider of best-in-class courses and training material. Kelly oversees a portfolio of high-quality learning products developed to meet the diverse needs of PMI’s global community of project managers to elevate their knowledge professional growth and improve project success.
A lifelong learner herself, Kelly holds multiple degrees in philosophy, including an Artium Baccalaureus from Harvard University and a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy from Georgetown University. She began her professional journey in academia at Georgetown, where she played a pivotal role in launching the university’s inaugural ‘Massive Open Online Course’ (MOOC) in bioethics and co-founded its ethics and social innovation lab. She most recently served as Vice President of Learning Experience at edX, overseeing the development of learning strategies and helped drive digital learning innovation across the company portfolio.
As the first member of her family to pursue higher education, Kelly is dedicated to mentoring other first-generation students. She also provides interview coaching to formerly incarcerated individuals and offers support and mentorship to colleagues in academia exploring alternative career paths. Kelly resides in Brooklyn with her partner Arjun, an industrial designer, and their two children, chess enthusiast Kiran, and aspiring explorer Ryan.
