PMI and the United Nations: advancing global goals
Introduction to the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs)
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) were adopted by all 193 UN Member States in September 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These 17 goals provide a blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. They address global challenges, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. The UNSDGs are designed to leave no one behind and ensure that all nations and people are working together towards common objectives.
PMI's Partnership with the UN through the UNGC
PMI aligns with the UN Global Compact (UNGC) to promote sustainability and responsible business practices. This partnership enhances our mission to drive social impact and advance the 17 SDGs globally.
What is the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)?
The UNGC stands as the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, inviting companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles regarding human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. It aims to advance societal goals through responsible business practices.
PMI's membership and commitment to the UNGC
Through our membership with the UNGC, PMI connects with like-minded organizations sharing aligned goals. This partnership provides us with the opportunity to engage in valuable networking, exchange innovative ideas, and gain insights from fellow members.
As a UNGC member, PMI is dedicated to upholding the 10 Principles and advancing the 17 UNSDGs. Our strategic goals align with these objectives, driving positive social impact and fostering sustainability through our Social Impact Initiatives.
PMI Social Impact Programs Aligned with the UNSDGs
We have ensured our social impact initiatives align with the UNSDGs. These initiatives support our mission to elevate our world by creating a positive societal impact and promoting sustainability by maximizing project success. For example, the PMI Hours for Impact campaign aims to contribute 750,000 volunteer hours by 2025, directly supporting many of the development goals.
