Legal lights

In Project Management legal issues abound. We have evolved from a society that did business on a handshake to one which approaches each transaction with an attorney or legal department close at hand. Another way of dealing with the legal aspects of doing business is to use a risk management approach with, "... preparation for possible events in advance rather than responding as they happen." Instead of wiping a perspiring brow with, "that was a close one" approach or, the "gritting your teeth, paying up, and sweeping the whole thing under the rug if possible" alternative, why not identify the recurring legal issues in the field, analyze them, and use the knowledge gained in managing the legal risks involved in a project?
