Quality management system standards

This article attempts to raise awareness about the ISO 9000 International Quality Management System Standards by describing the international quality movement and its goals and comparing these three primary quality management issues of concern to most companies: Total Quality Management (TQM), the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, and ISO 9000 Quality System Standards. Topics covered include the timelines and expectations of each, cost of quality factors, benefits of meeting the standards, and the results that a company can expect as it moves toward quality system excellence. The only guarantee of initial and ongoing success is the full commitment of every company member.
