One of the most common--and most overlooked--causes of project failure involves project control, when project authority is shared between two or more individuals. This article outlines eight reasons why organizations should not assign project authority to more than one person. In doing so, it explains the rationale informing each reason and describes the benefit of assigning the role of project manager to one individual.
