As Chief Strategy Officer, Abdullah Wright crafts and drives the execution of PMI’s strategy to create a clear growth path, ensuring that PMI continues to be at the forefront of the profession and supports project practitioners throughout their professional journeys.  In the pursuit of increased value to PMI's customers, members, and volunteers, Abdullah works across departments ensuring alignment and integration of enterprise and departmental strategies. Additionally, he Is responsible for the market research and insights that serve as the foundation of PMI’s strategic decisions, and fuel PMI’s content and thought leadership. Abdullah also oversees PMI's mergers and acquisitions.

Abdullah brings an extensive strategy background in both the commercial and nonprofit sectors. He joined PMI in 2018 as the Director of Strategy and Planning and has also served as the Vice President of Strategy and Thought Leadership. Prior to joining PMI, Abdullah held leadership roles at the American Diabetes Association, where he built their strategy and analytics function, and within Deloitte’s strategy practice, leading growth strategy projects across industries to align organizations behind broad-scale change. Prior to joining Deloitte and ADA, Abdullah was a fixed income trader and portfolio manager for UBS Investment Bank, trading corporate bonds and credit derivatives while managing a multi-billion-dollar loan portfolio.

Abdullah received his MBA from the Tuck School of business at Dartmouth and Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University, with a double major in both Economics and African-American Studies.
