Johannes Heinlein
Johannes Heinlein is the Chief Growth Officer at the Project Management Institute (PMI), a non-profit organization with more than 700,000 members worldwide. At PMI, he leads and supports advocacy, community, research, education initiatives and business growth across the globe.
Prior to PMI, Johannes held a variety of leadership positions across Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America. Among others, he has worked for Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Deloitte. At Harvard, he was a Director in the President’s Office, leading university-wide change initiatives. After his role at Harvard, Johannes was the Chief Commercial Officer and SVP of Strategic Partnerships for edX, the online learning platform founded & governed by Harvard and MIT. At edX he was responsible for defining and deploying growth strategies and led partnerships and collaborations with universities, NGOs, corporations and governments. During his tenure edX grew from its two founding universities to over 180 world-leading content partners and more than 2000 edX for Business, edX for Education & edX for Government partnerships.
Prior to his work within academic institutions, Johannes spent many years working with and for a variety of private and public organizations, including Nike, Mercedes, Bayer, Deloitte, Chrysler and national ministries for economic development.
