Project Management Institute Furthers Commitment to Maximizing Project Success with the Appointment of Four New Senior Leadership Team Members

Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's leading authority for project professionals, announced key appointments to its Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to further support its mission of maximizing project success to elevate our world. These critical additions to the Products, Marketing, and Regional Groups will help guide the enterprise as it continues to evolve and strengthen its impact and outcomes of the profession and the global community. 

New Additions to the Products Group:

  • Dr. Kelly Heuer, Vice President of Learning
    Dr. Kelly Heuer joins PMI from edX, where she served as Vice President of Learning Experience and led the organization's learning strategy, curriculum development, and media production teams. In her new role at PMI, she will design, develop, and implement a portfolio of high-quality, career-long learning products that will better enable project professionals and positively impact project success.

New Addition to the Marketing Group:

  • Emily Bavaro, Vice President of Marketing
    Emily Bavaro has spent over 20 years building brands and marketing teams for companies like Yankee Candle, DeWalt Tools, and Coleman Camping. Bavaro has been a key part of the marketing team for the last year and now joins PMI in a permanent capacity as the Vice President of Marketing. She will lead PMI’s Marketing Operations and Marketing regional teams, playing a crucial role in accelerating PMI’s transformation.

New Addition to the Markets Group:

  • Amit Goyal, Regional Managing Director, South Asia
    Amit Goyal previously served as the Country Manager for edX India and has held executive roles at Samsung. At PMI, Goyal will be tasked with growing and building a strong, united, and empowered team that will support and grow PMI’s South Asia community of 80,000 certification holders, 36,000 members and 11 chapters.  Goyal’s experience as a regional leader will be invaluable in growing and transforming this critical market, bolstering the economy, and ensuring the long-term success within the region and beyond.
  • Hanny Alshazly, M.Ed., Regional Managing Director, Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
    Hanny Alshazly, M.Ed., has more than 25 years of experience in the Higher Education and eLearning industry, where he worked to align operations with global educational objectives and developed relationships with top-tier educational and government leaders. He previously served as the Vice President of the Middle East and Africa at Ellucian and has a proven track record of strategic leadership and transformative growth. Alshazly will strengthen PMI’s capabilities and drive success in the region as MENA navigates complex opportunities and challenges with the continued launch of mega projects and portfolios.
