Project Management Institute Members Elect New Directors to Board for 2027-2029 Term

Project Management Institute (PMI), the leading authority in project management, has announced the results of the 2026 Board of Directors Election. The recently elected directors will begin their terms on Jan. 1, 2027, for the 2027-2029 term.
PMI members elected the following new directors to serve on the Board of Directors:
- Katherine Ajk, MBA, CSSBB, PMP, CSM: Brings more than 20 years of experience leading transformation and operations initiatives across the life sciences, technology, and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on turning strategy into measurable business outcomes.
- Laurel Sim, BSc, PMP: A dedicated PMI Chapter President and Volunteer, who has led complex global initiatives and built innovative tools for future generations of project professionals.
- Peter Glynne, MSc, ACG, PMI-CPMAI: Combines extensive experience in digital transformation and AI-enabled project delivery, with a passion for advancing the profession and preparing organizations for the future of work.
The following former PMI Board member was elected to serve a 2027–2029 term:
- Caterina La Tona, BCS, PMP, PfMP, IoD Chartered Director and Fellow: A past PMI Board Chair and long-time global volunteer leader, bringing governance expertise and a commitment to advancing the project management profession worldwide.
The Board of Directors provide strategic oversight, help influence the organization’s direction and uphold its core values. They work in close partnership with the PMI Executive Team to shape the organization’s strategy and advance the project management profession worldwide.

The Board of Directors will determine the Chair and committee chair roles for 2027 later this year. These will be announced at the 2026 Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, 22 October at Global Summit in Detroit, Michigan.
