18 May 2026 | Updates to PMP Instructor-Led Training Materials
Following the release of the updated Project Management Professional (PMP)® instructor-led training course, we are releasing incremental updates to PMP materials on a weekly basis (each Friday) as we work through incremental improvements and feedback on all course lessons, with completion anticipated around mid-June.
This approach ensures ATPs receive updates as quickly as possible while courses are actively being delivered.
- Nature of updates: Most updates are minor (e.g., typos and wording clarifications). Some updates include slide resequencing.
- Participant workbook updates: Due to slide resequencing, updates to the participant workbook will be published at the end of the update cycle.
- Instructor awareness: All updates are fully documented in the Instructor Kits. Please reference these regularly to ensure instructors are aligned with the latest materials before delivery.

17 March 2026 | LMS Transition Beginning 1 April - Key Dates and ATP Impact
PMI will begin transitioning learning products to a new Learning Management System (LMS) starting in April. The new LMS retains the same core content while improving consistency, course tracking, and overall performance.
This will be a phased transition designed to minimize disruption for ATPs, instructors, and learners.
What ATPs Need to Know
Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Course Migration
All learners and instructors registered for ATP instructor-led and Train-the-Trainer products will be migrated to the new platform as these products transition, regardless of course status.
Learners and instructors will continue to have access to their assigned courses.
PMI will begin reaching out to impacted learners starting in late March with details on what to expect. Please be aware learners may contact you with questions.
Updated Transition Schedule (Tentative, Subject to Change)
- April: PMI-RMP, PMP (2026 version), PMI-CPMAI
- May: PMI-ACP, GPM, PMI-PMOCP
- June: CAPM, PMI-CP, Disciplined Agile
New Requirement: Knowledge Checks for Course Completion
ATP course content remains the same. However, learners must now complete and pass a knowledge check quiz to receive a certificate of completion.
- Certificates of completion will be automatically generated upon passing the check. Learners can access these via myPMI and the learning platform
- Instructors will have access to the knowledge check within the Instructor Kit
- PMI may use course completion records, including knowledge check results, to verify training completion during certification application audits
Action required: Going forward, ATPs should ensure learners complete the knowledge check at the end of each course. Failure to complete and pass the knowledge check will result in learners not receiving a certificate of completion and may impact their ability to demonstrate required training for certification eligibility.
Course Progress During Migration
- Learners who have already completed a course will retain their completion records, certificates, and PDUs.
- Learners who have not yet completed the course and need it for certification exam eligibility must complete and pass the knowledge check
Instructor Progress
Completion of the General ATP Train-the-Trainer course will be preserved
Instructors who have not yet completed this requirement will need to complete it in the new LMS
Thank you for your continued partnership as we enhance the learning experience and transition to the new platform

4 March 2026 | Important Update to PMP Training Eligibility Requirements
We have exciting news to share, and it reflects the trust and confidence we have in our ATPs.
To apply for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification, candidates need 35 hours of live or on-demand project management training. Starting in late 2026, PMI will update which live training hours are eligible for PMP requirements.
Under the new policy, live training will only be eligible to meet PMP requirements if the course is delivered by:
- a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP), or;
- a China Registered Education Provider (REP), or;
- an eligible accredited academic program (including PMI GAC programs).
That means you, as an Authorized Training Partner, are centered as an eligible pathway for learners pursuing PMP certification.
This change is about quality and consistency. As the PMP continues to grow as a globally recognized certification, we want to make sure that every candidate receives preparation that meets the same high standards. By elevating our ATP network, we’re helping ensure that learners receive top-quality, exam-aligned training—reinforcing the integrity of the PMP.
Here’s what this means for you:
- Your training counts. Learners who complete training through ATP instructor-led courses will continue to have those hours count towards PMP training requirements.
- PMI is notifying candidates early. We just shared this change on our PMP exam change page—and we expect this update to drive increased enrollment to your courses as candidates seek eligible live training options.
- On-demand remains unchanged. On-demand, self-paced training can still be delivered by any organization.
Quality standards still apply. All training continues to be subject to standard PMI quality review and audit processes.
Timing considerations:
We’ll share a specific start date for this change in advance, as well as additional guidance and resources for training providers and learners. Any training completed before that date will remain eligible under current requirements.
Thank you for the role you play in preparing the next generation of PMP professionals. This update is, in many ways, a recognition of the quality you bring to that work.
More details will be shared soon. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team with questions.
6 March 2026 | Reseller Terms Now Integrated Into ATP Agreement
This update creates a more streamlined and consistent experience while maintaining all existing ATP program requirements and standards. Reseller-specific terms apply only to partners who choose to participate in reseller activities and are included directly within the ATP agreement framework.
Partners can review all applicable terms during the ATP agreement process and access the most current requirements in one place.
19 December 2025 New Instructor-Led CAPM Translations

CAPM® instructor-led training materials are now available in Arabic, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, giving Authorized Training Partners new opportunities to expand their global reach while delivering a consistent, PMI-aligned learning experience. 10 June 2026 | PMP® PMI Study Hall®: Updated Pricing and Version Access
We’re sharing a few important clarifications about PMP® PMI Study Hall® to support ATP planning. As part of the transition to the new PMP® exam and learning ecosystem, PMI is updating how PMI Study Hall® is offered through the ATP Reseller Program.
- Updated pricing: Project Management Professional (PMP)® PMI Study Hall® Essentials pricing has changed. Please refer to the latest pricing when placing new orders. Study Hall Plus pricing remains the same.
- PMP Study Hall version access: Effective immediately, the current version of PMI Study Hall aligned to the existing exam will no longer be available for purchase via the reseller program. 30 April 2026 | Enhancements to the PMI Partner Platform Coming 2 May
We’re sharing an update on enhancements coming this week to the PMI Partner Platform. A corresponding communication with this same information is also being sent directly to your platform administrators.
These updates are designed to simplify manual admin work and improve visibility, reporting, and reconciliation, while positioning the platform for future enhancements.
Highlights include:
- Database modernization
- Simpler product access management
- Updated invoice format and order IDs
- Easier future membership renewal for learners
What this means for you:
No action is required. These updates will deploy automatically and are intended to simplify day‑to‑day administration.
Planned maintenance window
The platform updates outlined below will be deployed on 2 May 2026 during a planned maintenance window from approximately 8:00am to 2:00pm (ET). During this time, the platform may be temporarily unavailable.
Platform Updates Launching 2 May
Database modernization
We’re upgrading the platform’s underlying database to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. This change occurs behind the scenes and is not expected to impact day-to-day administrative use. Over time, it will also support expanded reporting capabilities.
Simpler product access management
Product access will now be managed by assigning products directly to users, simplifying administration and strengthening tracking and visibility of assignments. End-user access will remain unchanged.
As part of this change, existing product groups will be temporarily removed. We recognize the value of group based organization: all existing group data will be retained for migration to a future Groups feature currently in development. If access to existing group data is needed in the interim, please contact your PMI representative for support.
Updated invoice format and order IDs
We’re updating our invoice format to no longer include individual employee names on invoices. To support efficient reconciliation, Order IDs will continue to be provided.
The Partner Platform will begin displaying Order IDs on applicable orders, which can be used to reconcile platform order data with invoices.
Invoices reflecting May orders will include this update and will be issued beginning June 1. For billing questions or support, please contact [email protected].
Easier future membership renewal for learners (launching after 2 May)
Shortly after the 2 May release, learners activating a membership through the PMI Partner Platform will see an optional prompt to add and save a credit card during activation. This option is intended to make future membership renewal easier and help support uninterrupted access, while preserving learner choice.
Adding a payment method is not required to complete activation.
Together, these updates help ensure the platform remains scalable and reliable—and give admins clearer tracking and smoother day-to-day management over time.

22 December 2025 | Important Update: PMI-ACP Application & Course Updates Effective January 6
We’re sharing important updates to the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® application and instructor-led courses, effective January 6, 2026. These changes, based on community feedback, are designed to streamline and improve the learner experience.
Key Updates – What Partners Need to Know:
1. PMI-ACP® Application Contact Hours:
- The contact-hour requirement is reducing from 28 to 21 contact hours.
- The Exam Content Outline (ECO) will be updated to reflect this change.
- Domains and core content for PMI-ACP will remain the same. Study materials have been streamlined for clarity.
2. New Instructor-Led Training Materials:
- English Instructor-led training materials will be updated to align with the new 21-hour requirement.
- After January 6, all English kits will automatically update to the new version. Previous versions will remain available to students and instructors in the “previous version” folder.
- Key changes in the new materials:
- Majority of animations removed for simpler slides
- Slide count reduced ~20%, mainly by combining topics and duplicative content.
- New PDU breakdown (total 21): Business acumen: 4 | Ways of working: 10 | Power skills: 7
- Translated Materials & Release Notes
- Instructor-led materials in languages other than English remain valid for delivery because PMI-ACP domains and learning objectives are unchanged.
- Instructors using non-English materials should teach the 21-hour course; the release notes provide guidance on how the English materials were streamlined and can be used to help pace sessions.
- Release notes in all languages will be incorporated into all instructor kits in the new year. They should not be shared with students.
3. For ATPs with Existing PMI-ACP Courses:
- We recommend adapting your courses in 2026 to align with the 21-hour requirement.
- We understand that you may have already scheduled and listed PMI-ACP courses for next year. To ease the transition:
- All existing PMI-ACP courses will remain listed in the ATP directory and continue to be associated with 28 PDUs.
- Legacy 28-hour courses will still satisfy the contact hour requirement for PMI-ACP.
4. For ATPs Listing New PMI-ACP Sessions & Courses After January 6:
- New sessions for legacy 28-hour courses cannot be added in the ATP course directory after January 6.
- All ACP course listings after this date must reflect the new 21-hour requirement and will be associated with 21 PDUs.
We appreciate your partnership in ensuring a smooth transition for students and instructors. For questions or support in updating your courses, please contact [email protected].

Important Information
True Up Process and Data Analysis
After our last “True-Up Analysis” – the invoicing/refund process based on your students’ locations, we received several questions. To make the process and timing clear to you, we are sharing additional information which defines the process, how we communicated it, and the purpose of these periodic analyses.
Please know:
- This process was put in place to prevent price gouging and taking advantage of the regional pricing tiers. It is our way to ensure pricing fairness in this global program.
- We are limited in what student data we can share with you, but there are also limitations in the data we collect. When registering for your courses, it is up to the student to share where they are located, and depending on their living situations, that location MAY differ from what they put in their myPMI profile.
- And remember: receiving global interest in your exam prep courses is a testament to your marketing!
Additional information can be found in our FAQs. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] or your Account Manager.
What Happens When an ATP is Inactivated?
Here are some key points to understand when it comes to the inactivation process:
- Students seeking courses will no longer find your organization’s course in the Find an Authorized Training Partner Course directory and your organization will be removed from the Find an ATP directory.
- Students will no longer be able to claim pre-approved PDUs for activities completed after the retirement date of the activity in CCRS. Activities listed in the terminated ATP Education Provider Portal of CCRS will be retired within a three (3) month period as defined by PMI. Retiring activities in CCRS are at PMI’s discretion.
- Access to purchase instructor and learner materials will be revoked. Unused keys/courses will be deactivated and will not be redeemable, or refundable.
- Instructors will no longer be able to access their instructor materials.
- You must immediately remove all PMI logo and PMI ATP Program logo usage in marketing collateral, course materials, webpages, etc.
- You will need to complete the Permissions Agreement Form to obtain a license agreement for any PMI intellectual property being used in your course materials.
- After 30 days from the inactive date, the ATP program will audit the status of items 5 and 6. If non-compliance is discovered, your organization may not be eligible to re-apply to the Program in the future. Any non-compliance activity reported may be forwarded to PMI Legal for further action.
- Once inactive and if you are still eligible to re-apply, you must re-apply to the program. To re-apply you must complete an application, submit it for review, and complete the financial review. Eligibility to re-apply is at PMI’s discretion.

For ATPs in the United States and Canada the procedure has not changed.
ATPs outside of the United States and Canada can now order from IPG:
- Send an email to [email protected] (put "PMI International Order" in the subject line to ensure it's routed correctly) to create an account.
- Specify your business address, shipping address, and books you'd like to order.
- Please order 6-8 weeks in advance

If you are interested in supporting PMIEF and our youth-serving nonprofit grantees, please complete the PMIEF's Training Interest Form.
ATP Program Compliance
Effective immediately, we will be implementing new sanctions for ATPs found to be not following the ATP program rules and guidelines.
Moving forward, any ATP that is notified that they are breaking rules (regardless of the rule) will have two weeks (10 business days) to respond notifying us of the steps being taken to resolve the issue(s) at hand.
If we do not hear from you in the allotted time frame or you are unwilling to make the updates necessary, you will lose access to the following for a minimum of 30 days:
- ATP will no longer appear in the ATP directory.
- ATP cannot post new courses to the course catalog and existing courses will be removed.
- After the suspension ends, the ATP will be responsible for adding any courses back into the catalog. We will not be able to reactivate them for you. - Lastly, the ATP will have their ATP badge inactivated from Credly.
If at any point during the 30 day suspension the ATP fixes the issue(s), the suspension will remain in effect until the 30 days is up. If, after the 30 day suspension, the issue(s) are not resolved, the suspension will continue indefinitely until resolved.
For quick compliance tips, use our guide: T&C
